Vast Terrain is a sonic cartography of longing,
sun soaked after-image of a hot coal on a red blanket.

Written and recorded in 2023 and partly in 2024, the 11-song album moves through lost love;
traversing a landscape of grief in an attempt to reach a new movement song.
Hotel rooms and hunter cabins, distant beaches and bathtub chats, rainy car takeaways and mushroom walks in forests,
a medieval bed in Lyon before farewells in train stations.
Stories unfold through the chapters of an archive held by love.

Melodies are remnants of walks and bike rides along lakes, hills, cliffs and forests.
Autoharp, piano, guitar, city noise, countryside winds, waves from distant seas, seagulls,
the hum of sunset drives and rolling thunders.
Sounds gathered at the time of deep grief alchemy.
Stripped-down ballads are woven with humorous, unhinged lyricism.

Welcoming longings is sacred and dangerous work.

Vast Terrain honours heart's magic of bringing one back in their body like never before.
Hoping it's medicinal, and that the drama is entertaining.
