Movement Song premieres at IFFR 2026

𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴 is selected for IFFR 2026 and is set to premiere on 30 January 2026. It is an honour to have this debut feature receive such acknowledgement, and I owe so much of it to the brilliance and generosity of my dear friends and long-time collaborators.

𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴 is meant as a balm. An offering to the altar of those who hold stories and keep archives alive through love. This was understood immediately by my dear Victoria McKenzie as well as Jill Hutchinson when I came to them with the story. I can’t wait for their magic to be witnessed on the big screen.

Future Soils: Victoria McKenzie, Jasper Griepink with Radical Roots and Narges Mohammadi

As part of Earthcraft, the new edition of Studium Generale KABK, Victoria McKenzie and Jasper Griepink will lead a conversation on soil, the sacred, futurism, and a critical unpacking of the notion of “manifesting.”

Mayıs Rukel and Lina Bravo Mora, as Radical Roots, will join Narges Mohammadi to host a session on the grief food of our intersecting diasporas: halva.

The Pendant at Filmhuis Den Haag

The Pendant will be screened at Filmhuis Den Haag as part of What You See Is What You Get Cinema’s program Glued & Screwed 5.

"The programme stitches together five films that make hard-to-digest subjects like power dynamics or the current and impending life, approachable and even funny. Five different acts in five different places expose shades of magic, politics, and systemic violence in Mayis Rukel’s The Pendant."
